Baton Rouge Municipal Airport
1. Air
Cargo Building and Air Carrier Apron – $2.4M
Project consisted of demolition of existing heavy-duty
civil paving, demolition of an existing aircraft hangar,
and relocation of onsite utilities as required for new
construction. The newly constructed air cargo facility
totaled 43,000 sq. ft. with both conditioned and unconditioned
spaces. A new loading dock was built to dock height requirements
to facilitate transportation of cargo.
Once awarded the contract, Guy Hopkins Construction
offered design changes, which resulted in over $100,000
savings to owner. Owner was provided a larger, all-new
facility, which was completed in less time than allotted
for original smaller facility free of original design
inherent problems.
2. Office
Building – 3.0M
A 15,000 sq. ft. terminal addition featuring office
space on the second floor and parking space below. Glass
curtain wall, True Stucco, and Insulated Metal Panels
wrap the exterior to complement existing Airport finishes.
3. Baton
Rouge Metropolitan Airport Parking Garage, Phase III
– $10.4M
This project consists of the construction of a new 245,000
sq. ft. five story precast parking garage for the Baton
Rouge Metropolitan Airport; including a new 180 foot
long glass enclosed pedestrian walkway with an architectural
standing seam barrel roof. The garage serves the rental
car agencies and adds 566 parking spaces to the airport
facilities freeing up other spaces in the garages in
front of the terminal for use by the public. The garage
is required to match the style and appearance of the
existing garages.
